Review of Ikiru (1952) by Ross L — 11 Jun 2012
Stands shoulder to shoulder with Ozu's Tokyo Monogatari as the saddest film ever made. Close to death, protagonist Kanji sits on a swing, contemplating how his life has gone while snow gently falls.
Remarkably moving. Kurosawa's underrated masterpiece.
