Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Sean N — 31 Jan 2009
Every single character is mentally unbalanced whether by manipulation or by free will. Above all the violence, the opening cum titles, the all star cast (Tsukamoto and Sabu...) and the fitting camera work, I ultimately found the movie to be sad.
The major factors being: The father/son relationship involving Sabu and Ichi's social ineptitude. The movie is pretty depressing actually.
