What genre is this film fit in? Honestly I think its a weird combination of gangster/superhero. The Ichi character is one of the most f*cked antihero's I've ever seen with alot of mental and sexual issues.
Japanese nowadays are truly entertaining like this adding with an immense amount of violence,gore,blood,torture and rape.The story was kinda of confusing but later on it explained it better director Takashi Miike is truly a genius in film making WTF?,weird,violent,funny,odd,bizarre movies.
