Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Brendan G — 07 Jun 2009
Based on the infamous manga, Ichi the killer isn't (as many would think) the character on the art work but instead a crazed assassin. For those looking for brutal torture sequences where nothing is left to the imagination, and which makes the (quite frankly lame) torture sequence in Reservoir Dogs seem like an episode of Neighbours this is the film for you.
Personally I loved it, a great balance of twisted gang brutallity, loyalty, obsession and blades much advanced fromRosa Klebbs last seen poison tipped shoe blade in Bond.
