Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Jon P — 23 Apr 2011
Wonderfully striking, fast-paced, and brutally entertaining. Ichi The Killer is a blood bath of a movie, overflowing with ultra-violence, sadism, masochism, and extraordinary characters. Takashi Miike delivers a truly shocking, and excruciatingly entertaining movie, with odd slices of hysterical humour wonderfully complimented by stylish cinematography, and an enduring soundtrack.
The hectic pace and cartoon-like violence may be a little too much for some viewers, but Ichi The Killer remains undeniably enthralling, highly intelligent, and utterly unforgettable.
