Review of ICHI (2008) by Wes S — 21 Mar 2012
This film has a strong nostalgic style with it's atmosphere, cinematography, and acting. Fumihiko Sori has taken the Zatoichi classic in another direction, If you like the classic Kung Fu/Saumurai films the you should check this one out.
A young and beautiful blind woman is on a journey to find the blind swordsman who trained her, along the way she reluctantly allows a man and a young boy to travel with her. Cynical and bitter from the way she has been mistreated all her life, she seeks out the only person who cared about her and ends up forming a deep bond with her two new acquaintances and finds something worth fighting for when the town is taken over by a sinister band of renegade samurai.
