Review of I Shot Andy Warhol (1996) by Meredyth K — 08 Jul 2007
I liked this movie a lot. First of all, Taylor is amazing at playing Solanas, a fucked-up radical feminist/lesbian activist. Also, the depiction of the Factory demi-monde is amazing and the film's soundtrack rocks. The movie is by no means a tribute to Solanas but rather a description of what can lead a fragile (but super-smart) woman to paranoia and murder.
This movie is basically what would happen if Travis Bickle (the protagonist of Taxi Driver) was a leftist who befriended Warhol a bit too much for his own good...
