Review of I Shot Andy Warhol (1996) by Darryl C — 28 Mar 2009
Lili taylor has her greatest screen moment as the radical, imbalanced and finally tragic valerie solanas. jared harris and stephen dorff give their respective all as warhol and candy darling. martha plimpton is eerily at home as the lesbian hooker sammy plus the added benefits are michael imperioli as ondine and anna thomson as iris.
plus, the writing and herron's style, which simplified the tale of bettie page, suit the patchwork craziness of warhol's world and the many that were attracted to and dispatched from it. the only place the film fails is in certain costuming details.
other than that, every time it's on tv, i'm on it!
