Review of I Never Sang for My Father (1970) by Byron B — 20 Jul 2008
This was an early Gene Hackman film, but the real star of this film is Melvyn Douglas, who got increasingly better as he got older. I think of his performance in this film as a warm-up to his Oscar-nominated turn in "Being There".
Hackman isn't too shabby here either. This reminds me of a simpler time when movies were more about storytelling and less about special effects.
