Review of I Love You to Death (1990) by Connor M — 29 May 2017
Wasn't planning on seeing this in my lifetime, but my dad wanted to see it, so here we are. The great screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan is behind the camera for this comedy about a man cheating on his wife, and his wife plotting to kill him in return.
The movie turns out to be a lot crazier than promoted, but there are many funny moments in the film. Kevin Kline is great in his role as the husband, and I thought Joan Plowright was also entertaining as well.
Although there is a great cast with lovable characters, I found the writing and story to be off most of the time. There are many crazy moments, and if you're into how crazy and ridiculous some moments can be then you'll enjoy it, but I never found it to hit home.
There are several great moments, but in the end it felt very subpar.
