Review of I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) by Winnie A — 02 Jan 2010

Panettiere looks gorgeous as usual but outside of that, there's nothing much going for this film. It's standard fare that we've all seen before. I'm not sure who green lit Cooper's boyfriend, but having some roid rage army dude who dates highschool girls and beats up everything in your film as a main character instead of a quick side laugh, is not a good idea.

There was plenty of setup in the graduation speech to make for some good times but all we get from it is a setup for Beth Cooper and dork boy to fall for each other and her overly agressive boyfriend to chase them around.

The bully was hardly touched upon and the stuck up girl and the eating disorder girl hardly made an appearance at all. Kinda makes you wonder what the point of the speech was in the first place. Seemed like a very important scene, until you've actually sat through the entire film.
