Review of I Know Where I'm Going (2009) by Darryl C — 15 Feb 2008
This is a movie that keeps changing guise with each new bit of information. it starts off as a comedy of manners, then turns into a love story then almost gets mystical and magical. it is honored with great acting by wendy hiller, roger livesey and pamela brown.
it has a great mixture of source music and a spirited theme for the main characters. in order to love this film, you have to love romance. and you have to love it 1940s style. this will not work for someone that needs a contemporary feel in their movie.
I often wonder how much fun it would be to see this film remade in to a musical with audra mcdonald and brian stokes mitchell in the leads. anika noni rose could be the young woman whose fiance tries to sail the little rowboat across the whirlpool.
..rob marshall, hook me up!
