Review of I Know Where I'm Going (2009) by Krystal T — 29 Dec 2008
Sorry to spoil the party but I have to be honest and say that this really isnt worth your time. ive never been that enthralled with more than one or 2 small elements in any powell and pressburgers film.
im just really not impressed with their oeuvre. there are a few elements of the photography here that are impressive and a few scattered story elements that are interesting, but when you boil it down its not that different from any of the insufferable romantic comedies that are being churned out today.
girl wants to marry some one. on the way to meet that someone, meets someone else. falls in love. has quandary of what to do. chooses the one most recently met. and dont tell me that just because its in scotland and features the landscape and culture thereof makes it a great film.
not even good. and my god, if I hear that woman sing the "i know where im going" song one more time, ill rip out my ear drums and stuff them in a scotchmans bagpipe. spend your time watching some other GOOD movie.
