Elegantly crafted, richly designed family drama about the wealthy matriarch of a powerful Italian family whose extramarital affair with one of her son's working class friends threatens to bring her family down.
Beautiful production and fine performances, but suffers from lack of depth and character development, and too much reliance on coincidence to drive its plot.
