Review of I Am Love (2010) by Margareth D — 17 Apr 2010
Very difficult to make any objective comment on this film. Firstly it is delighting to enter the screening room saying "I am love", not very usual and very pleasant to think we can indeed be "love" ;) Secondly the atmosphere of the film has ravished me; 3 days after watching it, I am still deeply touched by the beauty of the frames, the ambiance of the movie, the sensual innuendos about food (Tilda Swinton's facial expressions are so nicely sexual), the elegance of the characters and the beautiful mansion.
But the story hasn't impressed me at all and is very predictable. Nevertheless, the film is moving thanks to its gracefulness and the serenity the landscapes filmed in Italy (Milan, San Remo) convey.
The love story described in the synopsis hasn't touched me and I didn't feel it was the main theme of the movie.
