Review of I Am Love (2010) by Fran T — 07 May 2010
This beautifully filmed Italian story of family and the consequences of a wifes affair with a younger man leaves the audience with a strong feeling of the fragility of human relationships. The subtle treatment of the storyline serves to emphasize the final dramatic half hour of the tale which is uncompromising in it's moral stand on the subject of infidelity.
Tilda Swinton is excellent as the Russian wife and main character as are all the supporting Italian cast. To further describe the storyline would be to reveal too much and all that is required is to say that this is understated European cinema at it's finest. Superb.
