Review of I Am Love (2010) by Susanne J — 25 Jul 2010
If Inception is a film that takes place within dreams, I Am Love is a dream. Great melodrama fueled by lush visuals and a roaring soundtrack. Swinton is remarkable; here is a woman who can master both the technical and emotional aspects of her characters and not even draw out attention to it.
She is as beautiful as ever, and as the film and it's characters spiral towards tragedy, her performance anchors us emotionally to this family of bourgeoisie businessmen and the women who fear their displeasure.
