Review of I Am Love (2010) by David F — 22 Aug 2010
I call this a quiet, slow Italian opera, complete w/tragedy. Its a mood piece with some nice atmosphere, and some good performances, but I never fully connected to it. There were however some nice moments, but you have to wait a while for the payoff.
Swinton is good, and its fun to see Marisa Berenson again (from Cabaret). I also especially liked the housekeepers subtle performance. However, if you want a fast pacing, snappy dialogue, and lots of plot look elsewhere.
