Review of Husk (2011) by Matthew L — 08 Nov 2011
It starts of well enough and the blurb across the back of the sleeve sells it, but unfortunately it does quite live up to its potential. There are a few nice scares and at moments its suitably creepy but I can't help but feel that some of the elements at work in the film have been done better elsewhere, an early episode of Supernatural for example.
The killer scarecrow works really well and makes for a good faceless motiveless villain but this alone can not sustain the film and it runs out of steam before the end, especially when its left so ambiguous that there is no rhyme or reason for the overall events that unfold.
