Review of Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) by Joey S — 21 Oct 2016
Hunt For The Wilderpeople combines adventure and comedy, this together with great performances of the cast makes this a very entertaining movie. We see a troubled boy who has lived in foster homes for most of his youth.
But when he finds himself in the care of a couple living near the wilderness in New Zealand his life takes a turn. At first, he finally finds a loving heart in his foster mom called Bella. But fate takes a turn and he is left with the old and brooding Hec.
Because of certain events both of them survive in 'the bush' and try to avoid the police who are combing the entire area in search for the two runaways. Most credit goes out to Julian Dennison, who plays his role absolutely marvelous and the connection between him and Sam Neill has definitely been my favorite aspect of this movie.
Hunt For The Wilderpeople combines two completely different worlds and it works. Very funny and interesting movie.
