Review of Hulk Vs. (2009) by Charles B — 29 Jan 2009

Double the action and double the fun. "Hulk Vs. Wolverine" is a grisly, adrenlane-pumping good time with the abominable Hulk brawling it out with the curmudgeonly brusque Wolverine. What we get in this short film, is a movie that pushes the PG-13 rating and finally we get to see Wolverine and Hulk using all their powers and strength to literally rip the shit out of people. Five amputations are seen in the film; along with people being eviscerated and maimed. This movie isn't for the kiddies.

The other cool part about this is seeing Deadpool finally getting a chance to be in a Marvel animated film. The Merc With the Mouth finally gets to use his gift of gab saying the most off-the-wall off-kilter things imaginable and his brief cameo in the film is enough to get me excited for his bigscreen debut in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." I can't wait to see Ryan Reynolds give him that nutty, wisecracking, smart-ass charm Deadpool possesses so well.

Another cool part is seeing the Weapon X Program and seeing Hulk and Wolvie fight together against Sabretooth, Lady Deathstryke, and Omega Red. Big giant geek points from me to Marvel!

"Hulk Vs. Thor" is more epic in scope and scale. The beginning (seeing Asgard) just made me smile and get excited for a Thor movie. While I've never been a fan of Thor before or read a Thor comic, this movie got me wired and pumped. Hulk and Thor even duke it out; though their fight isn't as bloody or as fun to watch as Wolvie's but this movie is more on a grand scale. Loki, Thor's brother and Asgard's trickster, plans to possess Hulk's body in order to kill Thor and Odin and claim control of Asgard; Thor and his people must hold Hulk back and save their kingdom and Bruce Banner too.

If you're a big nerd or a fan of comics as I am this movie is worth the impulse buy. It gets you excited for a 'Avengers' movie, another 'Wolverine' film, and a "Thor' movie. 4 stars out of 5 for this killer movie.
