Review of How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) by Masorad ( — 08 Feb 2010
What passed for humor in Eisenhower's America for the armies of men in their grey flannel suits and their feminine mystiqueless wives. Monroe is brutally square-pegged in her myopic ditzy role, Grable is as dumb as toast, Bacall and Powell smoke & go through the motions.
This is TV-dinner filmmaking: prepackaged, readymade and doesn't require any effort by anyone involved.
