Review of How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) by Matt R — 12 Mar 2009

Messy and meandering, as most touchy-feely movies that put emotions on a pedestal are. It sort of works, but this movie is really crowded with loads of ups and downs - one sort of arrives at the ending without a real sense that the events drove us to it.

The epilogue to this "true" story really is one that makes me laugh in a very disaffected, Gen-X way...that's the way the world really works.
