Review of House on Haunted Hill (1959) by David C — 11 Oct 2008
A black and white film that actually made me scream out loud at one point. I LOVE Vincent Price. And I love the atmosphere. While the remake took this film in a completely brainless (although fun) direction, this one is actually an intelligent thriller.
It feels like the quintessential haunted house movie. The opening narration made me giddy. This is a movie that is a classic on its very first viewing.
