Review of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) by Peyton M — 23 Jul 2018
As someone who enjoyed the first two Hotel Transylvania films, I have to say that I find this third installment to be THE WORST one out of all of them. The animation is still great, but it takes more than good animation to make a good movie like a solidly written script and memorable characters, and this movie offers neither.
It doesn't help either that the movie is a total retread of the first one with little to no differences. It even went as far as completely going against the message of the first movie ("you only zing once in your life") by having Dracula fall in love with Erika.
And by the way, that's not a spoiler. You can tell they're going to fall in love at the end just from watching the trailers. Also, even the humor wasn't all that funny. I only laughed occasionally.
So overall, even if you are a fan of the first two films, I honestly don't know if I can recommend this one. But if you still want to give it a viewing regardless of what I said, my only recommendation is just rent the DVD when it comes out.
Just don't buy it until you've seen it because chances are, you might find that it's not worth your time nor money.
