Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Darcy B — 23 Apr 2013
Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent, Paddy Considine, Timothy Dalton, need I go on?!? This is an absolutely hilarious police comedy with the great 'Spaced' duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the unlikely pairing of excellent city cop and dopey country cop as they police the seemingly peaceful rural village of Sandford.
The jokes never grow old and the laughs are loud and many. Some argue it is not as strong as the excellent Shaun of the Dead - but I think it holds it's own and is a very strong comedy that deserves less comparisons and more individual acclaim.
Hot Fuzz will always have you laughing heartily and has some of the best comedic moments in modern film history. (Brain Freeze / Fence jump fail... the list goes on.) Need cheering up? This will certainly do the trick.
