Review of Horsemen (2009) by Javier T — 19 Aug 2009
Yet another reason to keep away from insane religious nuts. Anyway...a pretty good religiously-themed thriller. Not nearly as good as Se7en, but alike in concept. The biggest difference is that Horsemen has a predictable ending.
It was obvious about half-way into the movie who would resemble "Death", who, by the way, is a pretty pathetic Death. For being the leader of a band of kids calling themselves "The Four Horsemen" his motives should've been over the most tragic of circumstances, instead they were the weakest.
Seriously, the other murderers' backgrounds are sad and tragic, up until the ring leader's, who emboldens the concept of melodramatic depression by completely overreacting, which is fucking stupid.
Oh well...it was still enjoyable regardless.
