Review of Hoot (2006) by Marcn. — 03 May 2006
There are so many jaded critics out there who demand that films be dark and edgy in order to be considered "good" that it is not surprising that some would not enjoy Hoot. But they lose sight of the fact that Hoot is not aimed at film critics but at families.
It was refreshing to see a film that championed kids being kids -- not MTV wannabees. The idea that if we act locally we can make a difference is also a story worth seeing. The acting is spirited, the soundtrack is fun, and kids will enjoy it.
Another winner from Walden Media and New Line.
