Exactly the same as any other sports movie I've watched. But with dated 80s music. There are some nice performances, but Hackman's character is too "perfect." He saves the team, he saves the town, he rehabilitates a drunk, and reunites a father and son.
He's such a miracle man they could have called him Jesus. The players themselves aren't very interesting, and I never got into the basketball. Inspirational, but predictable, it's just not as compelling as it used to be.
