Review of Hoosiers (1986) by Sean B — 08 Oct 2011
This is one of my all time favorites. It has tremendous performances by Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper. It may have the cliches you expect(the smallest guy on the team hitting the key free throws, etc) but the cast's performance outweighs the cliches.
The speech toward the end of the movie("In my book we're gonna be winners!") is played at sporting events across the country and not just at basketball games. The film holds up and is extremely memorable.
