Review of Home Alone 4 (2002) by Cal ( — 29 Nov 2010

Ah, TV film, uhuh, that explains a lot! I had to see this to complete the Home Alone quadrilogy ofcourse, but having never heard of it and actually stumbling on it, this surely wasn't worth comparing to it's precessors.

But how can you otherwise!? No sweet intro, right to the point, noticing the same names which is very stupid because they aren't the same people (!!), clashed the divorsed parents thing in it and we unpatiently wait untill it starts getting the least bit entertaining and you can smell the end from miles away.

Pretty bad acting, although at least Mike is better than his brother and sister, but it's all so superficial! Best acting goes to the two housekeepers who appear to be part of a rather good clue in this one.

The big, modern and 'automatic' mansion is a good move and the christmas spirit is kept just fine. Almost no real boobytraps, the two crooks are more annoying than funny and there are a lot of stupid, unapropriate situations.

At least I laughed a couple of times...
