Review of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) by Sam C — 26 Dec 2011
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is another good family comedy and a good sequel to the first but not quite as good as the first. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is once again about Kevin and this time he and his family are heading to Miami for Christmas, but of course something bad is going to happen again.
This time while at the airport Kevin gets confused and gets on the plane to New York instead of the Miami plane. As Kevin's time in New York is good it soon get ruined when Kevin sees his old friends Harry and Marv who are planning to rob a toy store.
Now Kevin has to get by in New York and stop these two criminals. I thought the first Home Alone was a great family comedy that I always enjoyed watching and for Chris Columbus to make a sequel anything can happen.
Well it turns out that this movie isn't entirely great but not bad either, it's still an enjoyable movie but with more flaws than the first. The story was basically the same as the first movie except that this time it was in New York.
In this movie I saw many scenes that were the same as the scenes from the first movie with a few differences. For the comedy side its funny and is what mostly saves this movie but at time this movie could slow down or have some similar scenes from the first.
Most of the cast returns to this movie and all do just fine. Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin and gives another good performance but his cleverness from the first movie is what made me like him allot but you end up mostly seeing what you saw from the first movie.
Joe Pesci is back again as the clever/smart guy from his little group and Daniel Stem is back as well and give another good performance as the stupid guy of the group and always manages to put a smile on your face.
Overall Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a good family comedy with quite a few flaws but still enjoyable.
