Review of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) by Ivan J — 22 Dec 2018
Remember kids, trust strangers! This was exactly the same as the last one. But with even more coincidences. So here's my Home Alone 1 review with parts cut out:
It makes no sense that Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, is able to set up traps as if he is an engineer with a Ph.D. at the age of like 10 (if that). This is a classic but its bad - if that makes any sense. You would watch it and get a lot of nostalgia when you watch it once a year. The last film spawned Macaulay Culkin's career. That says how is acting was. Kevin's mother - Catherine O'Hara - was a good worried mother I think she should've been given better lines. Also, her suit looked as if she had huge sharp shoulders - once again, it looked as wide as 5 feet. The camera shots were good. When Kevin ran the camera would follow at the perfect pace. They would zoom in the characters expressions to show "that's not good". I would recommend this, as a Christmas family film. I would age this PG for some very very mild gore scenes, violence, and slapstick comedy.
Grade: B.
