Review of Home (2017) by Shaun B — 12 Dec 2018
Home is one of the most underrated DreamWorks Animation films ever made. It stars Jim Parsons, Rihanna and Steve Martin. It is one of my favourite DreamWorks film that I have seen.
When Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.
It has the best soundtrack in a DreamWorks film because it is a most memorable and is the most catchy. The movie is based of the book 'The True Meaning of Smekday. It introduces the first black protagonist ever put in a DreamWorks film.
I didn't think that films have any plot holes, and the film has brilliant animation for an animation film. I found the film absolutely hilarious and is extremely enjoyable.
Overall this is one of my favourite films of the 2010s and is the best DreamWorks film since Shrek 2. I would recommend for families who have trouble finding a family film to watch. My recommended rating is U for slapstick and threat.
Grade A+.
