Review of Hombre (1967) by Michael T — 30 Jan 2009
Another in Newman's string of "H" films (HUD, THE HUSTLER, HARPER) and this one is adapted from a Elmore Leonard Western novel. Before turning to crime novels, Leonard wrote a number of Dusters that often dealt with the theme of racism.
A neat little American Western filmed at a time when most Hollywood Dusters had bloated production values and ageing uninteresting stars and the real life in the genre was in Italian'Spanish productions.
