Review of Holy Motors (2012) by Vinouel John L — 07 Jan 2013
I'm enamored with this film. It crawls and nibbles in my brain. I'm enthralled by the way it ruminates the nature of character portrayal, the cinema itself, and the digitalization of the world as the film shifts from one genre to another.
It also inculcates in its audience's minds the idea that art and life itself share the same twist of fate with machines; quality and performance matter so as to not be outdated. A reminder that the world is a huge stage and we're all its actors.
This film is bizarre and beautiful, something great, and something more.
