Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Takasuke S — 20 Sep 2009
The film is about George Reeves who is The Superman on TV. The story sums up the events in his life in the last few years leading up to his mysterious death. I found this to be a little of a disappointment after all. Allthough a great cast the movie didn't really take off at all and just kept rolling on. Not that it was boring or anything but it lacked the exitement of say L.A.Confidential.
The cinematography was kind of homage to the style of the 1950's. It's in colours but the colours were washed out and dull as if it was actually made in the period just after black and white pictures turned into coloured ones.
I just watched this yesterday on TV by accident. And allthough it's OK I don't think it really has enough re-watching value to be bought into my collection.
