Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Jay L — 02 Mar 2013
"Living In Hollywood can make you famous. Dying In Hollywood can make you a legend..".
It's a good old-fashioned mystery, and who doesn't enjoy a good old-fashioned mystery from time to time? Hollywoodland is a true story, an absorbing, enticing and engaging mystery that sucks you in from the start and keeps you in it's grip throughout. A visually stunning, brain busting knockout that delivers a dragonfly riveting true story. Director Allen Coulter brings us a highly addictive mystery/crime thriller. It features some truly extravagant cinematography, an electrifying story and solid precision, excellently paced and rock solid. Hollywoodland is a sure fire winner with minimal downfalls and pin point accuracy. It tells the true story of iconic actor George Reeves and the scandal that exploded surrounding the entire ordeal, a true Hollywood scandal that is beautifully recreated and reenacted.
The acting is excellent with convincing performances from everyone involved. Featuring performances from Ben Affleck, Adrian Brody, Diane Lane and Bob Hoskins.
