Review of Hobson's Choice (1954) by Ben S — 26 May 2009
The status of Laughton and Lean drew me to this, but the charm is really on the rest of the ensemble who are hilarious without being cartoonish. It hums along on brisk dialog and gorgeous high-contrast scenery until the perfectly predictable but thoroughly satisfying pay-off.
If Lean made other comedies, I'll chase them down.
