Review of Highlander (1986) by Christopher M — 16 Jul 2011
Great film. While it may not be technically brilliant at times, there is a lot going for this film: A great score featuring legendary songs by Queen, beautiful cinematography of the Scottish highlands, good acting from Connery, Brown and Lambert and generally a great atmosphere while simultaneously handling the themes of love, loneliness, purpose and immortality with the right verve.
This is the film that introduced the Highlander ethos to the world with all its mystery and beauty (which was eventually driven to the ground).
