Review of High-Rise (2015) by Tony D — 29 Sep 2016
Keeping in mind I haven't read the novel, I rather enjoyed a lot about High-Rise. It's the good kind of bold film making that Wheatley has become known for. The is certainly not a film I would recommend for a fun sci fi trip, but rather, for anyone looking for something entertaining and out of the norm.
I love the 70's look for a future tale and the punchline delivers, although I'm not sure it's what I thought the film wanted me to think. Where this film shines is in the editing and Wheatley uses excellent lighting to inspire feelings of lust, fear, boredom, and uncertainty.
