Review of High Fidelity (2000) by Leandro D — 10 Mar 2010
A good movie with a nice soundtrack. I cannot help but dislike Jack Black though. He may well have been well cast, and the character a fairly good one - but it just seemed too typical for him. As a romcom, it was good as it was not too 'in your face' like some other films of the same genre.
I particularly enjoyed the technique of the to the camera monologues, as well as some inner monologues - good devices for creating great characterisation. Still, a very strong feeling tells me the book was much more enjoyable, I may have to read it.
