Review of High Fidelity (2000) by Alex H — 08 Mar 2010
Stephen Frears's romantic comedy is one of the few rom coms I actually like. This is mostly because of John Cusack's character that made this film very enjoyable.
This film stars John Cusack ("2012", "Con-Air") and Iben Hjejle. The movie also has Jack Black ("School of Rock", "Tropic Thunder"), Todd Louiso ("Jerry Maguire", "The Rock"), Catherine Zeta-Jones ("The Legend of Zorro", "Entrapment"), and Joan Cusack ("Working Girl", "Toy Story 2"). The film also has appearances from Tim Robbins ("Top Gun") and Bruce Springsteen.
I loved the dialogue and the soundtrack too. Cusack is great playing a pained guy going over his five worst break-ups and he is easily the best thing about this film. A funny movie with heart. 4/5 stars. (3/8/10).
