John Cusack was fantastic in this role. He has the perfect balance of whiny heartbreak,snobby music lover, and a jerk turned caring guy. I love how the different cuts to the movie, make the storyline very clear and the scenes where he is talking to the audience like a soliloquy make "Rob" all the more relateable.
