Review of High Anxiety (1977) by Scott I — 02 Apr 2010
The most underrated of Mel Brooks' movies, most definitely. A perfect parody of Alfred Hitchcock's movies (my favourite is when Dick Van Patten is in the shadow of the window with the circular spokes and says "I feel like I'm caught in a web!"), a nice compliment to Saddles' send-up of westerns.
You can't go wrong with sight gags such as the LA Symphony Orchestra showing up by bus to give some orchestral accompaniment.
