Review of Hidalgo (2004) by G C — 29 Sep 2009
Overall, a nice movie. A bit cute, but a warm movie. Family friendly if you give the kids a "spoiler": Hidalgo doesn't die! I was worried for a minute, and was going to be furious if the horse died, because that would have made it utterly pointless and a waste of two plus hours.
I did enjoy it and recommended it to my parents. It was sweet and well-acted. An interesting note my husband shared: they used the same horse throughout the movie, and at the close of production, Viggo Mortenson bought the horse.
Paralleled the movie in a way.
