Review of Hidalgo (2004) by Ben E — 17 Nov 2010
I was so glad that the movie kept its focus on the race and didn't become a needless action-adventure that so many blockbusters become. The characters are fully realized in a believable way and the plot is good enough to pull you in and along. The moment to moment events are also well thought out and the villain does its job to make you hate him.
What I like most of all is that there is a significant grey area from hero to villain to make it all plausible and believable the best kind in my opinion.
Overall it transcends the mundane to become a better than average adventure that any moviegoer is sure to enjoy.
