Review of Herø (2001) by Jj M — 30 Sep 2014
I am always a little troubled by Jonze's outlook on life but that doesn't matter when what he produces is almost always fresh and original. Bloody hell, a world of geeks walking around, talking and in love with their phone.
..and its accepted. Seems like a weird fetishic fantasy to me but indeed I would be foolish to think that parts of the world are truly not very far off this. Very interesting concept and I always feel compelled by Pheonix's presence.
The character of Olivia Wilde is unfortunately contrived to be very ugly in her attitude and this was a little too predictable to me. Not fair on the fairer humans amongst us - looksist?
