Review of Hercules in New York (1970) by Josh G — 09 Apr 2009
Stupid? Yes. Idiotic? Yes. But damn it if it isn't entertaining, for all the wrong reasons of course, but still what a gem this movie is lol. Ahnuld's FIRST ROLE EVER! Yes, the "Governator" has been acting since 1970.
..WOW. He was so foreign that he was just called Arnold Strong at the time cuz no one could handle Schwarzenegger. Not only that, but they hated on his accent and dubbed him for the original release BOO! Thank God for DVD cuz having Arnold's actual dialogue is a MUST! His accent is so clutch and honestly is the only thing that makes this worth watching.
For a first effort from an extremely green actor and very Austrian man, Arnold is solid. He does what he has to do, say "My name is Hercules" 1000x and show off the goods. Everyone else is absolute garbage though.
Arnold Stang is so damn annoying, and kinda makes you wanna see his character just commit suicide at the end lol. You want to see bad acting? Look no further my friends. Horrible effects, but then again without the cheesiness this just sucks.
OMG the "bear fight" scene is EPIC. YouTube it now!
