Why did I watch a movie like this if I was just going to be a prude about it? Man, I have no idea. It's grotesque, unsettling, visually inventive, and pretty original - but I still can't recommend it, mainly because it was just so unpleasant to sit through.
I know, I'm maybe missing the point of the genre. It turns out that Pinhead isn't even the most memorable or important part of the movie, it's just that he's about the only thing they could put on a poster because everything else is too disgusting or upsetting.
Gore in horror has persisted, but for goop in horror you gotta go with the 1980s.
